What this marketplace is
The Norpex marketplace is a listing and introduction service for used and surplus commercial kitchen equipment. Independent sellers publish equipment they own; buyers browse it and ask Norpex for a quote on anything they are interested in.
Norpex is not a party to the sale unless Norpex is the seller of that unit. Where the seller is an independent business, your contract for the equipment is with that seller.
What Norpex does
Norpex reviews every listing before it is published, removes listings that break the rules below, and handles the quote request you send from a listing — including freight, timing and, where the seller agrees, negotiation on your behalf.
Some units are inspected by Norpex before listing. Those carry a Norpex Certified marker and a condition report, which records what the inspector found on the date of inspection.
What Norpex does not do
This is the part most marketplaces bury, so it is stated plainly:
- Norpex does not take payment for marketplace equipment on this website. There is no checkout, no cart and no card processing on a marketplace listing.
- Norpex does not hold funds in escrow and does not release funds to a seller on your behalf.
- Norpex does not operate an inspection window, a claims desk or a dispute-resolution process for marketplace purchases.
- Norpex does not warrant a third-party seller's equipment. See Warranty and as-is.
Using the site
Do not scrape, bulk-download or republish listings, do not misrepresent who you are, and do not use a quote request to send advertising. Norpex may remove a listing, a seller or an account that does any of these.
Prices, availability and errors
Listing prices are set by the seller and are asking prices, not offers Norpex can bind. Used equipment sells; a listing can go stale between your visit and our reply. If a price or specification is obviously wrong, Norpex will tell you rather than hold anyone to it.
Changes
These terms change when what we do changes. The date at the top of this page is the date of the current wording.
