Short answer
Measure every doorway, hallway, stair and elevator on the route from the truck to the final spot, then the space itself with the clearances the installation manual requires. Confirm the voltage, phase, amperage and plug type, the gas type (natural gas or propane), and any water supply, drain and ventilation the unit needs.
Check the route against the crated dimensions, which are larger than the unit's own, unless the unit will be uncrated outside. Some units can pass through a tight doorway with doors, legs or handles removed; the spec sheet or the manufacturer will say whether that is possible.
Self-contained refrigeration needs clearance around the condenser for airflow, and gas equipment needs the clearance to combustibles set out in its installation manual. Your provincial gas and electrical safety authorities and local codes govern the connections.
