Freight & delivery for heavy commercial equipment

Last updated July 1, 2026

Buying the equipment is half the job; getting a 400-lb reach-in to your back door is the other half. Understanding freight up front saves you surprise fees and damaged-in-transit headaches.

LTL, liftgate and the last few feet

Heavy equipment ships LTL (less-than-truckload) on a pallet. Standard freight drops it at the truck's tailgate — if you don't have a dock, you need a liftgate to lower it to the ground, and often inside delivery isn't included at all. Measure your doors and pathway before it arrives.

Every Norpex listing publishes the freight class, weight, crated dimensions and whether the unit is palletized or needs a liftgate. Norpex does not price freight on the listing page — send the listing through Request a quote and we come back with a delivered number for your postal code.

Inspect before you sign

This is the single most important rule of freight: inspect the crate and unit for damage before you sign the delivery receipt. Once you sign clean, a freight-damage claim becomes very hard to win. Note any dents, punctures or a tilted pallet on the slip, and photograph everything.

Check before you buy

  • Read the freight class, weight and dimensions on the listing
  • Do you have a dock, or do you need a liftgate?
  • Measure doorways and the path to the unit's final spot
  • Get a delivered quote for your postal code before you commit
  • Be present at delivery to inspect before signing
  • Note any damage on the delivery receipt and photograph it
