Additionally, nugget ice melts more slowly than traditional ice, keeping drinks cooler without diluting them as quickly. This model is built with energy efficiency in mind, using up to 40% less water and 15% less energy compared to traditional cubed ice machines. It consumes 3.65 kWh of energy per 100 lbs of ice produced and uses 12 gallons of potable water per 100 lbs. The air cooled condenser uses 100 gallons of water and requires a 208-230V electrical connection for operation. To reduce maintenance time, the Scotsman Prodigy Plus comes with AutoAlert lights to indicate when it’s time for descaling and sanitizing, as well as removable panels for easy access to internal components.
