This guide covers setup, daily use and cleaning for Dito Sama PREP4YOU cutter mixers, vegetable slicers and Bermixer PRO immersion blenders, with the speeds, load limits and washing steps taken from the manufacturer's user manuals.

Key takeaways

  • The manuals require a qualified, authorized person for the electrical connection, with mandatory earthing and no multiple plugs.
  • A PREP4YOU cutter starts only with the bowl seated, the locking pin engaged and the lid locked; the slicer never runs above speed 4.
  • The Bermixer PRO immerses no deeper than two thirds of the tube and starts at speed 3 on 350 W and 450 W models, speed 2 on the larger ones.
  • Cutter bowls, lids, scrapers and rotors are dishwasher safe; the Bermixer motor unit is wiped clean only and never immersed.
  • Daily operator checks cover the seal, blades, rotors, discs and power cord; repairs belong to the manufacturer's authorized service network.

  • The TRS slicer runs at 400 rpm on 370 W (1/2 HP); the SUPERCUBE combined unit works at 1800 rpm with a 3.6 L (3.8 qt) bowl.
  • Bermixer PRO immersion blenders come in 450, 650 and 750 W versions with 18, 22 and 26 inch stainless steel tubes, plus a 350 W model with an 18 inch tube, all on 120 V with a NEMA 5-15P plug.
  • The planetary mixers include a 20 qt model with three fixed speeds of 45, 85 and 170 rpm.

Installation and electrical connection

The combined slicer/cutter mixer manual says to place the machine on a strong, flat, stable support: a table between 700 and 900 mm high that leaves room for a receiving bowl up to 200 mm tall, or the optional mobile stand. It gives a storage range of -25°C to +50°C and an operating ambient range of +4°C to +40°C. The vegetable slicer manual asks for a flat, stable surface supporting a weight of 15 kg.

For power, the combined slicer/cutter mixer manual requires connection by a qualified and authorized person, allows a maximum voltage variation of ±5% and a frequency variation of ±1% continuous and ±2% over short periods, forbids multiple plugs, and makes earthing mandatory with a green/yellow conductor. In practice, a qualified, licensed installer must make the connection to local code.

The Bermixer PRO manual asks for a wall-mounted single-phase 10A socket protected by a circuit breaker or 10A fuse, with the socket voltage matching the rating plate. Both the combined slicer/cutter mixer and Bermixer PRO manuals require washing the food-contact parts before the first run.

Using a PREP4YOU cutter mixer and vegetable slicer

To set up the cutter, the combined slicer/cutter mixer manual says to install the bowl on the central shaft with its locking stud in its housing, fit the rotor on the drive shaft until it stops, and only then add the products. Close the lid with its seal and lock it with the handle. The videos How to use a commercial food processor PREP4YOU? and How to Use Your PREP4YOU Combined Cutter-Slicer cover this assembly.

The safety systems gate every start. The cutter runs only with the bowl positioned, the locking pin engaged and the lid locked; the motor stops when the lid is unlocked and is braked before the rotor can be reached. The slicer runs only with the hopper locked and the ram press down, and the motor brakes each time the presser lever opens for loading.

On speeds and loads, the combined slicer/cutter mixer manual says to always start at low speed and never to exceed speed 4 on the vegetable slicer. Its working examples cap the K45, K55 and K70 at 2, 2.5 and 3.5 kg of mayonnaise, with minimums of 100 to 150 g. If the machine stops mid-task, the motor heat sensor has triggered: wait a few minutes and restart with less product or a lower speed.

On the slicer side, the same manual lists straight slicing plates C from 1 to 14 mm, wavy plates CW from 2 to 6 mm, curved plates CC from 1 to 5 mm for fragile products such as tomatoes, and shredding plates AS for 2 to 4 mm matchsticks. The FT screen cuts chips 6 to 12 mm thick and the MT screen cuts dice from 5 to 20 mm. The large hopper takes products up to 160 x 80 mm, and the small hopper takes long products up to 52 mm in diameter. How to Use Your PREP4YOU Vegetable Slicer covers this workflow.

Using the Bermixer PRO

The Bermixer PRO manual gives the start sequence: hold the mixer by the two handles on the motor unit, press the I button and the green + button together, then release + while keeping the I button held in. The mixer starts at speed 3 on the 350 W and 450 W models and at speed 2 on the 550 W, 650 W and 750 W models. After more than 30 seconds stopped it restarts at that base speed; after less than 30 seconds it returns to its previous speed.

Never run the tool out of a recipient, and immerse it to two thirds of its length at most. Lower the tool to the bottom of the container before starting to avoid splashing hot liquids, angle it and stir with the blade off the bottom, then let it rest at the bottom to finish, and remove it only after it has stopped completely. Keep your hands on the handles, since the tube gets hot in boiling liquids.

For whisk work, hold the whisk unit hub and one motor handle, start slowly and move from the centre outwards, and never grip the gearbox. The manual's recipes cap the whisk at 6 kg of mashed potatoes directly, or 20 kg if you rough-mix at high speed with the mixer first, then finish on the whisk at medium speed, between 1 and 4. The video Bermixer Pro Tutorial presents the Bermixer PRO as a lightweight hand mixer for professional kitchens with a completely dismountable tube.

Cleaning after use

The combined slicer/cutter mixer manual says to disconnect the appliance before dismantling any part, and never to clean it with a pressure cleaner. On the slicer, remove the plate, screen, ejector and pusher, then the cutting chamber, then the hopper-lid and presser lever, releasing the locking pin as the manual describes. Wash the parts in hot water, rinse and dry; the cutting chamber, hopper and presser lever can go in the dishwasher.

On the cutter, remove the bowl, the lid with its seal, the scraper and the rotor, and clean them in hot water with a detergent-disinfectant, or a degreaser after greasy products. The bowl, lid and scraper can go in the dishwasher with the rotor if the blades are protected against impact; dry the rotor blades thoroughly, keep the rotor in the cold chamber, and leave the lid unlocked after cleaning so air circulates. Push trapped dice out of MT screens with a carrot, never with metal.

For the Bermixer PRO, unplug first, and between uses swirl the dirty parts in hot water. After use, separate the tube from the shaft and blade by pushing the central plastic shaft with both thumbs over a table or sink, then clean the shaft and blade assembly and the tube with a brush, hot water and disinfectant detergent. Only the blade and tube can be cleaned in a machine; avoid dishwashing the shaft, because chlorine-based products can blacken it. The whisk unit must not go in the dishwasher, though the two whisks can, and the motor unit is only wiped with a damp sponge and detergent, never immersed.

The vegetable slicer manual adds the prohibitions that protect these machines: no chlorine-based products even diluted, no metal utensils or scouring sponges, no abrasive powders, and no direct water jets or steam cleaners.

Maintenance and troubleshooting for the operator

The vegetable slicer manual sets daily user checks: general cleaning, the mechanical part that drives the attachments, the rotors and the seal, replacing a defective seal, the blades, rotors and shredding discs as wear parts, and the power cable. Annually, a service team checks screw tightening and carries out a general overhaul, and the manual advises an inspection by a certified technician at least every 12 months. The combined slicer/cutter mixer manual says the bearings, motor and mechanical parts are greased for life and recommends lubricating the seal at the base of the drive shaft.

If the appliance will not start, the combined slicer/cutter mixer manual says to check the power connection and socket, the bowl in position, the hopper locked, the presser lever completely down, the lid locked and the pin pushed fully home. A stop mid-task points to the motor heat sensor, so wait a few minutes and reduce the quantity and/or the speed. With abnormal noise, stop the machine and check that the plate, screen and ejector are seated and that the bowl, rotor and scraper are positioned with no foreign bodies inside.

On the Bermixer PRO, a flashing red overload lamp means you should reduce the speed until it goes out; if the mixer stops with the lamp lit constantly, the thermal safety has tripped, so unplug it and wait a few minutes for the motor to cool. If the device is accidentally immersed while running, do not touch it or the container: unplug the supply immediately.

Service through the manufacturer's network

The vegetable slicer manual reserves installation, maintenance and electrical repairs for specialized technicians approved by the manufacturer, and requires genuine spare parts; the combined slicer/cutter mixer manual says maintenance may only be carried out by a qualified, trained and authorized person. Anything beyond the daily checks and cleaning steps above belongs with the manufacturer's authorized service network.

When you contact service, Dito Sama's manuals ask you to have the machine type, its serial number and its electrical characteristics ready for spare parts. For questions about which model or accessory suits your kitchen, ask Norpex.
