About Norpex

Norpex is a fully-online commercial food and hospitality equipment dealer serving all of Canada. We sell to the people who actually run kitchens — chefs, operators, food-service managers, hotel buyers, grocery operators, and the institutional teams behind schools, hospitals, and retirement homes. We don’t sell to homeowners shopping for a “pro-style” range. That’s a different business.

What we are

A nationwide commercial equipment dealer with no showroom drag, no parking lot, and no overhead built into your invoice. The catalog lives online. The warehouse and freight network is national. The pricing is what it should be. The promise is straightforward: best price guaranteed, ships anywhere in Canada, quotes back inside one business day.

We carry the brands that operators already trust on the line — brands like Atosa, True, Vulcan, Hobart, and Merrychef — alongside our own value-focused house lines (HOTZONE, COLDZONE, and LUMIN COOL) for operators who want commercial-grade equipment at a lower price point. We’re always clear about which is which: when a True T-49 is the right reach-in, we’ll tell you it’s a True T-49; when a HOTZONE unit does the same job for less, we’ll tell you that too.

Why “fully online” actually matters

Most Canadian commercial equipment dealers are built around a showroom — a building, a floor full of demo units, a sales team paid to walk you through it. That model adds 15-25% to every invoice. It also means the catalog is whatever fits in the building. We took the building out.

What that means for you:

• Real prices, posted publicly. No “call for pricing” games. If you have to log in to see the number, the number is bad.
• Quotes in one business day, not five. A specced-out kitchen quote shouldn’t take a week of phone tag.

The team

Norpex is run out of Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario. The team behind it has spent years inside the food-service equipment trade — sourcing, specifying, selling, fixing. We’ve been on the operator side of bad invoices and seven-day delivery delays, and we built Norpex specifically to fix the things that drove us up the wall.

Headcount is deliberately small. The reason is the same reason your favourite line cook moves twice as fast as a brigade: less coordination overhead, more decisions in the people who actually do the work. Every email goes to someone who can answer it. Every quote gets signed off by someone who can read a spec sheet.

Supplier relationships

We’re authorized dealers for the manufacturers we list — that’s not a marketing line, it’s how the warranty pass-through actually works. When you buy an Atosa from us, you’re buying a unit Atosa will warranty the same as if you’d bought it from anyone else. We don’t grey-market import, we don’t substitute knockoffs, and we don’t ship refurbished as new.

Where it makes sense, we also carry refurbished and used units in a separate section. They’re labelled clearly and priced accordingly. A reconditioned Hobart mixer with 10 years left on it is often the right buy for a startup operation. We’ll tell you when it is.

Where we ship from

Our fulfillment network spans warehouses across Canada and direct-from-manufacturer drop-ship for larger refrigeration and cooking equipment. For most in-stock items we ship within 1-3 business days from the closest hub to your destination. For freight items (anything over ~150 lbs), we coordinate with national LTL carriers and quote the lane-specific rate at checkout — no surprises after the order goes in.
