This guide covers daily use, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting for Cofrimell OASIS slush machines and CD-series refrigerated juice dispensers, based on the manufacturer’s user manuals. It explains installation clearances, control settings, disassembly for cleaning, and when to call for service.

## Key takeaways

- Always disconnect power before cleaning or servicing any Cofrimell machine.
- Slush machines require a minimum 13° Brix sugar content to avoid damaging the spiral blades.
- Leave at least 25 cm (10 in) clearance around OASIS slush machines and 15 cm (6 in) around juice dispensers for ventilation.
- Clean the condenser fins monthly to maintain cooling performance.
- For any repair beyond basic checks, contact the manufacturer’s authorized service network.

## Understanding your Cofrimell machine

Cofrimell offers two main types of commercial beverage equipment: OASIS slush machines and CD-series refrigerated juice dispensers. The OASIS line includes single-, double-, and triple-tank models (OASIS1, OASIS2, OASIS3) with 2.6-gallon polycarbonate tanks. The juice dispensers range from the single-tank CD1J (12 L) to the four-tank CD4J (4 x 3 gal).

The manufacturer provides separate user manuals: one for the OASIS and Kream Line slush machines, and another for the Coldream, Jetcof, Mega, and Whipper juice dispenser series. This guide draws on both manuals for the models in our list.

## Installation and positioning

Unpack the machine and remove all protective films. Check for damage. Keep packaging away from children. If the machine was transported on its side, the juice dispenser manual advises standing it upright for 30 minutes before plugging in to let compressor oil settle.

Place the machine on a sturdy, level surface. For OASIS slush machines, the manual requires at least 25 cm (10 in) clearance on the sides and top, and 150 cm (60 in) in front for operation and maintenance. For CD juice dispensers, the minimum side clearance is 15 cm (6 in). Increase distance if near heat sources. Adjust the rubber legs to level the unit.

Electrical connection must be performed by a qualified, licensed electrician according to local code. The machine must be grounded. Verify that the supply voltage matches the serial number plate. For slush machines, do not use multiple outlets or adapters; for juice dispensers, use only approved multiple outlets if needed. Never pull the cord to disconnect.

## Daily operation and controls

For OASIS slush machines, the main power switch is on the right side (0 = off, I = on). A separate light switch controls the lid light. Each bowl has its own control box behind a transparent screen. Switch A selects mode: I for slush/frozen cream, II for cold drink dispenser, 0 for cooling off. Switch B turns the spiral blade on (I) or off (0). Thermostat C adjusts the product temperature in cold drink mode.

To produce slush, pre-mix the concentrate with water according to the concentrate manufacturer’s instructions. The mixture must have a minimum sugar content of 13° Brix; lower concentrations can damage the spiral blades and gear motors. Pour the product into the bowl only when the machine is off and unplugged, and do not exceed the MAX level or go below MIN. Set switch A to I and switch B to I. The factory-set thickness can be adjusted by sliding open the back panel and turning the screw (clockwise to increase thickness). Over-icing or blade jamming may result from incorrect setting.

For cold drink mode, set switch A to II and adjust thermostat C to the desired temperature. Keep the product level above the cylinder evaporator. For juice dispensers, fill the tanks with pre-chilled beverage, turn on the main switch, and dispense via the tap. Some models have a whipper motor; its speed can be adjusted behind the rear or side panel by turning the knob clockwise for faster RPM. Always pre-cool products to reduce cooling time.

## Cleaning and sanitizing

Before first use and daily thereafter, clean all parts that contact product. Always disconnect power. For slush machines, empty the bowl, then disassemble the dispensing tap: remove the lever pin, tap valve, and spring. Remove the lid, unscrew the two front bowl knobs, and pull off the bowl. Gently remove the spiral blade and its gasket, and the bowl gasket. Lift off the drip tray.

Wash all components except the lid in a basin of lukewarm water (approximately 40°C) with a neutral detergent suitable for plastics. Do not use a dishwasher. The lid should be wiped with a damp cloth—never submerge it. Rinse thoroughly with clean lukewarm water and dry with a soft cloth. Sanitize by washing with a solution of 10 g of hypochlorite (bleach) per 1 litre of water. Use a soft brush for better cleaning.

Reassemble by lubricating the upper part of the bowl gasket, the transmission shaft outlet, and the spiral blade head with the supplied lubricant. Insert the spiral blade, bowl, and secure with knobs. Reassemble the tap by lubricating the valve and inserting it with the spring, then the pin. For juice dispensers, daily cleaning focuses on the whipper assembly: remove the bellows, whipping body, paddles, and support (refer to the manual’s Fig. 14). Wash and sanitize similarly.

Clean the condenser at least once a month. For OASIS 1, remove the back panel; for OASIS 2 and 3, remove the left side panel. Use a soft, dry brush to remove dust from the condenser fins. For juice dispensers, access the condenser by removing the rear or side panel as shown in the manual. A dirty condenser reduces cooling efficiency.

## Troubleshooting common issues

The OASIS manual lists several problems and solutions. If the machine does not turn on, check that the plug is inserted, the main switch is set to I, and the power cable is intact. If the machine is not cooling, ensure the condenser is clean and ventilation is adequate; a refrigerant leak or faulty micro-switch requires a specialized technician. If the spiral blade does not turn, verify switch B is set to I. Ice accumulation may jam the blade—turn off the machine and let the ice melt, then check lubrication.

The juice dispenser manual provides a troubleshooting table. No power: check plug, main switch, and feeder cable. Machine not cooling: see compressor not starting; also check for gas leak, clogged condenser, or lack of airflow. Compressor doesn’t start: possible faulty main switch, protector, relay, or compressor—contact a technician. One bowl not cooling: likely a gas leak, clogged condenser, or clogged filter—requires a technician. Stirring paddles or pump not working: gearbox or switch failure—replace by a technician.

For any problem not listed, or if the solution involves replacing components or recharging refrigerant, always contact a specialized technician. The operator should only perform the basic checks described.

## Service and support

For repairs beyond routine cleaning and simple checks, contact the manufacturer’s authorized service network. Norpex does not provide installation, repair, or maintenance services. A qualified, licensed electrician must make the electrical connection to local code.

If you have questions about a specific Cofrimell model or need help selecting the right machine for your operation, ask Norpex.

## Common questions

### What clearance do I need around a Cofrimell OASIS slush machine?

The manual states 25 cm (10 in) on sides and top, and 150 cm (60 in) in front for use and maintenance.

### Can I use any sugar concentration for slush?

No, the mixture must have at least 13° Brix. Lower sugar content can damage the spiral blades and gear motors.

### How often should I clean the condenser?

At least once a month. Use a soft, dry brush to remove dust from the fins after disconnecting power.

### What should I do if the machine is not cooling?

First check that the condenser is clean and ventilation is adequate. If the problem persists, a refrigerant leak or component failure may require a specialized technician.

### Can I wash the bowl and parts in a dishwasher?

No. The manual says to wash components by hand in lukewarm water (approx 40°C) with a neutral detergent, and never dip the lid in water.
